Gym club, Squash club and the Badmintonb club

Gym Club Competition
These children represented the school in a recent competition. They were awarded their level 1, some their level 2 and Isabelle her level 3 award certificates and badges. The children were all commended for their excellent behaviour as well as their gymnastic skills- well done everyone- super role models for our school.
Thank you Mrs James for all your hard work and time coaching and preparing the children for the competition.

Isabelle came 2nd out of 55 children-a brilliant result. She was presented with this trophy and was proud to show us in our celebrations.Fabulous result- well done.

Squash Club -final session.
The children played mini games in their last session with Colin. They listened , watched and practised their skills and enjoyed competing against each other.

The 25 children really enjoyed learning a new sport.

Badminton Club
The new club for KS2 this term is badminton. Rod Tyler is our coach and this week children practised throwing the shuttle to their partners who in return hit the shuttle back.
Rod was impressed with some of the skills the children showed.

New skills for some children, others in class 3 had learned and practised prior to our BISI badminton festivals.

Watch out for more photos showing the progress of activities and skills.

Squash and gym club

KS2 children are still enjoying learning squash. They are now able to have mini rallies with each other.
The person who wins the rally stays on court, their partner goes to the back of their team waiting turns for another turn.

Points are scored by the winner of the rally.

Next week is the final week and their is to be a min competition.

Gym Club
Mrs James is busy coaching and preparing children for a competition next week.

The boys are working through their routine which they are trying to memorise.

Lovely to hear the children reminding each other to present at the end of the skill.

Looking good for the competitions next week.

Whilst track events were being held, field events were on the opposite side of the hall. Mrs Carley was my "right hand " helper- we learnt last year that at least 2 helpers were needed to orchestrate children to make sure they were in the right place at the right time!
