Cricket in class 3

This term we have the benefit of coaches from Grantham Cricket club coming in and coaching us for 10 weeks.
Ross had to do his first session in the hall as it rained!

explaining the game to groups

now we know what we are doing

Still plenty of space to practise skills inside until the sun shines and we can go outside on the field!

After half term the sun returned and we went outside and played non stop cricket- great team work.

putting our batting and fielding skills into a game

The sun remained and Jamie coached us on Tuesday afternoon.

non stop cricket

A skills game running round whilst Jamie throws to different people therefore you had to keep your eye on the ball the whole time

if you dropped the ball you had to sit out!

not many left now

Rory and Casper were the last 2- super catching boys

KS1 Athletics club

Children had to have their athletics session indoors due to the rain, hail and generally freezing cold weather! They still enjoyed learning and fine tuning their athletics skills with Colin.
The first game was practising side stepping to the left and then the right round the outside of the cones. Children were split into groups of Big Cats and had to listen for their names-Lions,Tigers, Cheetahs...
Next activity was lunging. Children had to lunge to reach a ball and then lunge to replace it on another cone.Colin kept changing which leg and arm children were to use so they had to listen carefully as well as know which was their left/ right!

Great work- I really enjoyed watching children practising these activities.
