Sports Hall Athletics

We entered a team of 16- 8 boys and 8 girls into the Small Schools Sportshall Athletics competition.Children were allowed to compete in a maximum of 2 track and 2 field events. Track events were: 1 lap relays for 2 children and also 4 children, 2 lap relay, obstacle relay( which had speed bounce, hurdles & steppers) . Field events were: javelin, speed bounce, standing long jump, triple jump, chest push and vertical jump.

Teachers javelin- Mrs Barnes for the 2nd year running stood up to the challenge.

Our 4X1 relay team- finished 3rd and that was after 1 member tripped and fell but got up and finished the race with a smile on her face.Fabulous effort and great determination.

The boys relay team came first with great competitive running.

Super team work from every one-lots of personal bests with jumps and throws being improved upon.

We came joint 5th with Grantham Prep. with 500 points. 4th place was 502 points with 512 for 3rd so very close. Another great team effort from everyone- super behaviour , sportsmanship,effort and team work.

Thanks to parents for transporting and staying to support us- great that some excellent races and events could be seen and celebrated.
