Swimming and personal survival for class 3.

The deep end swimming group have been working on their Level 1(Year 5) and Level 2 ( Year 6) personal survival skills. This week was their test to see if they could achieve all the requirements, including water safety based questions. Children were to work in teams, helping and supporting each other- working at the pace of the weakest swimmer in each group.
Treading water for 2 minutes.

Get  woggles and keep in a huddle for 2 minutes , working as a group.

Swim for 100m with a float.

Children then had to climb out( not easy in wet clothes) and answer various safety questions.

All children passed ! Great work from all.

The shallow pool group have been doing so well that they worked in the deep end swimming 25 m on their front and some their back. Some even managed their 50m .

Not to miss out on the fun, the middle group showed they could manage without goggles and retrieve objects from the bottom of the pool...

faces in with eyes open.

Hard to recognise bodies especially when same coloured trunks and hats!

Back to the shallow pool group- time to jump in.

Middle group thought if they can do that then so can we. They made it harder by jumping over the woggle and swimming to the shallow end!

Very proud of all class 3 and their achievements. Thanks must go to the fabulous swim teachers : Debbie, Jean and Wendy who work them hard and get the results.
