Tag Rugby Competition

This week a squad of 12 took part in the Tag Rugby Festival at Woodnook. Will Pert accompanied the children along with Mrs.Millar ( unfortunately I had to stay for Parents Evening).
12 children with4 girls- 2 had to be on the pitch at all times and we had 4 good players to rotate and use.

Usually we start poorly and get better but this time 4 straight wins putting us in the semi finals.

Heading towards the try line.

Captain Ben trying to prevent the opposition from scoring.

Tag- belt is held high and 'tag' called stopping the opposition from advancing.
George going for a try.

First win against Ropsley and 3 cheers for the opposition.

Celebrating the first win.

Parents watching and encouraging us on.

After 4 matches we played against Huntingtower and lost putting us in the 3rd and 4th place play-offs.
We won and came 3rd.

Waiting for the results ( and medals).

Receiving our medals.

happy faces

10 of our squad -2 had to leave early as the festival went on until after 5 o'clock.
A fabulous result.

Thanks Will for great coaching and preparing our team.

Our team displayed excellent team work as well as showing respect for the umpires. (Mrs.Millar and parents told me this and that makes me very happy.)

Thank you parents for transporting, supporting and staying and helping well after the due finish time.

11 of our team( minus George) proudly receiving their certificates in front of the whole school.
