Football Tournament.

Thursday Nov. 2nd was the small schools football tournament. I was on a course in Lincoln so Mr.Caton and Mrs.Millar took the children to the King's Playing Fields. We must be fated because last year Riley( our captain) broke his arm and couldn't play, this year James- our captain injured his wrist  before the boys left and had to go to hospital for an X-ray and so he couldn't play! Not the best start but Alex, our vice captain stepped in and took over the role as captain.

Our squad of 9 ready for their 7 aside matches.
We lost our first 2 matches 3-0 against The Bythams and Allington but then won 1-0 against Denton with Alex scoring. The 4th match was a 1-1- draw, again with Alex scoring, the 5th match was a 2-0 loss against Ropsley. The boys then had a play- off match against Great Ponton resulting with them winning on points and coming 9th overall.
Mr.Caton coaching the team.

Joshua and Ben were our 2 goal keepers, swapping between matches.

All smiles at the end- 1 win, 2 draws and 3 losses.

Mrs.Millar and Mr. Caton said how well behaved the boys were- they showed effort, respect and sportsmanship throughout-thank you boys- that's what I like to hear.
Thank you to all the mums who transported and stayed to support the team and of course to Mr.Caton for coaching the boys before the tournament and during it.I think Mrs.Millar is the lucky charm- every time I go to a football or rugby tournament it pours down with rain- for Mrs.Millar- sunshine!
