also sorting out the team order

and now for the race...

we raced against Great Ponton

all going well...
taking turns until legs were tired and speed slowed

all was going well until the electronic timer detached so we had to stop....
wait, ask another school to swap slots with us so we could start again...

blue team this time....

on our way for the second time

Darcy finishing the last 200m-her legs were aching by now but a change over would slow us down...

stretching at the end as we produced the fastest time so far-less than 7 mins.
Would it be the fastest at the end of the morning? I will let you know!

Smoothie time...

ingredients decided-mango juice, summer berries and 2 bananas
,peddle power to mix the smoothie

10 seconds each to mix,Thomas...

                                                                               Jess...

100m relay Mass Participation event

Children across the county took part in a mass participation 100m relay event on Friday morning. The aim is to see how many meters as a school we could complete within 1 hour with every child running 100m.This total would be added together with all other schools taking part, to see how far across the Atlantic we would have rowed if we were Sarah Outen! She has almost 5 million meters to row to get to the end of her journey in October!
Jess and Amy ( our Bronze Ambassadors )marked out a 50m rectangle  for us to run around. Class 2 started off...Riley ran the first leg...
and we are off...

2 laps each

everyone taking a turn

the first group who had completed their legs of the relay

watching and supporting each other

Mrs Barnes had to run in "slow motion" for us as we were waiting for class 1 to come and join us as class 2 completed their laps quicker than expected.

Just in time...phew...it had to be continuous running

and class 1 are off...

and next runner
almost done

class 3 joined us after their music lesson so no time to change into kits-just trainers!

and class 3 now complete their laps

lots of cheering and support encouraging everyone

even Carmen who was hearing readers joined in.

Children (and a few adults ) completed 87 legs - all within an hour class 3 wanted to keep going - and do a second leg-unfortunately that was not allowed!
I will add the whole total as soon as it is forwarded to me.
