New Age Kurling

Our Kurling kit arrived this week and Y6 enjoyed using it for the first time after their morning SAT's .
Ben, George and Luca were the first to play and enjoyed 12 ends in a very competitive match.
Luca was victorious.

Mrs.Marshall came in to see how to play and joined in too.

Tactics also came into play- as well as getting on the target, stones could be used to block and to push other stones out of the scoring zone.

The equipment is for any class to use along with our Boccia set.

KS1 Cricket Club

Coach Peter enjoyed perfect cricket weather with YR,1,2  and Y3. Children have worked hard on skills and enjoyed playing a Kwik Cricket match on their last session.
Children bat in pairs for 2 overs facing bowling from the fielding team.

Our static bike to help children cycle a mile.

We now have a static bike in order for children to complete a cycle mile challenge( we don't have space for a running mile track as other schools do so we are trying to complete this cycling instead.) . The bike is in the hall and children can access it in pairs in breakfast club and any break times. There is a speed and distance tracker attached so children can see how long they have taken to complete their mile( or rather their 1.6km as our tracker shows.)

Football match V Belmont.

I organised a friendly football match for our football team against Belmont School.11 children wanted to play so we took them all!
It was a lovely sunny day and the boys enjoyed a closely fought match which ended in a 3-3 draw.
We scored first and were always ahead but Belmont kept attacking and drawing level with us. Both sides had plenty of shots at goal so a draw was a fitting result for both sides.

Mr.Caton gave a team talk at half time.

All boys played in the 7 a side match with roll on, roll off subs.Everyone played as a team and we were proud of how well they played against a 'big town school.' Parents stayed and watched and also enjoyed the match.

Well done team- great match.
