    High 5 Netball Festival.

Warming up before our first matches.

We played Ropsley and won, Belton Lane and lost and then just lost against Cliffedale( we were 4-0 up at half time and lost 4-5-so close).

We finished 3rd in our group and went on to play Huntingtower, winning and the Belmont winning again.

Overall we came 7th out of 13 schools.
The team we narrowly lost 4-5 to came 2nd!

Great play everyone, thanks to the mums who transported to the festival and stayed to cheer up on. They saw some excellent netball skills.

Swimming and personal survival for class 3.

The deep end swimming group have been working on their Level 1(Year 5) and Level 2 ( Year 6) personal survival skills. This week was their test to see if they could achieve all the requirements, including water safety based questions. Children were to work in teams, helping and supporting each other- working at the pace of the weakest swimmer in each group.
Treading water for 2 minutes.

Get  woggles and keep in a huddle for 2 minutes , working as a group.

Swim for 100m with a float.

Children then had to climb out( not easy in wet clothes) and answer various safety questions.

All children passed ! Great work from all.

The shallow pool group have been doing so well that they worked in the deep end swimming 25 m on their front and some their back. Some even managed their 50m .

Not to miss out on the fun, the middle group showed they could manage without goggles and retrieve objects from the bottom of the pool...

faces in with eyes open.

Hard to recognise bodies especially when same coloured trunks and hats!

Back to the shallow pool group- time to jump in.

Middle group thought if they can do that then so can we. They made it harder by jumping over the woggle and swimming to the shallow end!

Very proud of all class 3 and their achievements. Thanks must go to the fabulous swim teachers : Debbie, Jean and Wendy who work them hard and get the results.

Class 3 rugby coaching and netball.

Will Pert is also coaching class 3 for PE as well as running the after school club for KS1.

Y5 practise their line out skills.

Can 4 defenders stop the try from being scored?

                                                              Coaching tips and next steps.

Into a game now.

Year 6 now start their warm up games.

Teams try to run the ball up the field to score a try with 4 defenders trying to stop them.

Some good skills from Y6.

March 1st was the first round of our matches in League 2. It was a sunny night for our High5 team.

We played against Belmont and won a close game.

Our second match was against Grantham Preparatory and we lost.
March 15 th was our next round of matches. 2 new players joined us to gain experience before the High 5 netball festival: Maddie and Katelyn.

We played against St Mary's but lost- we played the better netball but could not score goals! Our next match was cancelled as our opponenets had dropped out of the league so we played a friendly match which gave good experience to our new players.
