Kwik Cricket Tournament

On a sunny Thursday 11th June 10 children represented the school at the local Kwik Cricket tournament at Grantham Cricket Club.20 school took part.We played 6 games , winning1, 2 close game lost, 1 very close game lost( 4 runs difference) and 2 matches where we were well outplayed.Good experience for us-we definitely learnt lots playing other schools. The 2 teams that tied  winning the whole tournament were in our league but that did not stop us trying to win. We set ourselves targets each game: bowlers taking wickets, catches, hitting boundaries-4's and 6's- all of which we met.
a glorious day- perfect cricket weather
fielding first- all taking a turn to bowl

batting in pairs for 2 overs each

waiting for our first wicket

umpire signalling 4

6 pitches were spread around the pitches at Gorse Lane

we had 7 boys and 3 girls in our squad
so hot we used our brollies for shelter!
plenty of sun cream was used throughout the day

another match

ice pole time-time to cool down in between matches

glad I took my cricket watching- chair-the children enjoyed sitting in it!

feeling the heat after 7 hours with no shelter
glad I took the spare Play Leader caps for us all to wear- including parents

2 sharing my chair and brolly!
Our team at the end of a good day
