Sports Day June 2015

We were lucky that the sun shone and we were able to have our annual sports day where all our children took part in House Events before taking part in sprint races. Lots of parents came to support and enjoy watching the children.

How far can you throw using a 2 handed throw?

bean bag relay

javelin-
Later on Harry threw a gigantic throw outside our scoring zone-fabulous.

baton relay- working well as a team

checking all is going well

And now for the races ....
What a surprise I had when the Reception children turned round at the finish line and ran back towards me!They had practised in the hall where space was short and ran 2 'legs' of the hall so when the time came for their actual race they proved they listened well to Mrs Sutcliffe and did exactly the same for me!

So we tried again and this time ran just to the finish line!

Year 1 first race

                                                                       and second race
Now the races split into girls and boys races
first the girls...

now the boys...

year 3 's turn

year 4

year 5 girls-both ready!

Y5 boys

Y6- their final race at Marston they told me at the start line.

the boys on their 70m journey to the finish line

Time for relay races, each House had to select 4 members to represent them.

Time for results- a happy relay winning team.

The whole school siting round the scoring table waiting to see who won the Field Events Trophy and who won the Sprint Race Trophy.

Parents and children finding out for the first time we had a draw for a trophy.

Well done Bronte .

Shakespeare and Dickens joint field event winners.

A super afternoon , everything went smoothly, the sun shone, the older children supported and helped the younger ones, parents supported, cheered and enjoyed watching the children = a great Sports Day 2015.
