Goal Ball Festival

On Thursday 5 boys represented the school in the new sport of Goal Ball. The sport was initially devised  for visually impaired children and has been adapted for all children through the wearing of blindfolds. Children played in teams of 3, listening to the bells in the ball, communicating with each other and learning how to roll the ball over the gaol line to score-not easy.
Our team before the start...not too sure  about the new game...but put their names forward to play.

Listening to Inspire+ young leaders explaining rules

Eyes covered...

                                                                      ball ready
the boys soon found that by lying down they made it harder for the opposition to get the ball rolled past them

rolling for a goal keeping the roll straight aiming therefore for the opposition gaol

listening for the ball, moving to stop the ball

good defending boys

young leaders guiding and helping

another chance for a goal

getting ready to stop another goal attempt

well done boys , you learnt as you went on and adapted your tactics.
