Squash Club

KS2 are learning squash with coach Colin Gibson. Lots of children were interested in joining this new club and after Colin came  out to look at our hall, we decided that we could safely accommodate 2 rebound nets and 25 children .
The first session involved learning the importance of correct racket grip and how to hold it.

Walk to the throw down spot whilst balancing ball on racket, touch spot, walk to wall, touch and return all without dropping the ball. If ball dropped= 1 star jump to be completed!
Next starting on skills:drop, bounce and hit the ball above red line on the rebound net.

Starting to learn how to do a forehand hit.

How to hold racket, where leg points, which way to face if left handed or right, all before you actually drop and hit the ball!

Now time for the backhand ...

Good to see older children supporting the younger ones and giving a helping hand.

Lots learnt in 1 lesson- lets hope we remember it all for next week!
